Big Sugar has done it again. They have recently released their new album: Brothers and Sisters, Are You Ready? which they will be performing at their upcoming show at The Wall.
The band has undergone some changes since their last album and they include bringing back former drummer and original band member Al Cross, as well as introducing new member Mojah. Mojah is a Trinidiadian rhythm guitarist who adds a Caribbean "riddim" to the bands sound. Front man Gordie Johnson, multi-instrumentalist Kelly Hope (known by fans as Mr. Chill) and Garry Lowe on bass completes the always successful band.
What makes this band so notably Canadian is the fact that they have been releasing songs and performing in both official languages since 1999. Brothers and Sister, Etes Vous Ready? marks their first full-length studio album ever to be released in both English and French. It also makes history by being the first English speaking band in Canada to cross the language barrier on such a large scale.
It promises to be an excellent show as always, so don't miss this premier Canadian band.
BIG SUGAR with special guests SMOOTHER will be at The Wall on Wednesday August 29th . Doors open for this wet/dry event at 8:00pm. Tickets cost $20 each and can be purchased at The Wall or at NUSU.
