Greetings!

Hey guys! Here is a friendly message from Julie Price, your Vice President Internal, for the Nipissing University Student Union, for the 2001-2002 school year. I have the privilege this year to be able to facilitate all of the AWESOME clubs that your Student Union offers. Clubs are wicked-popular here at Nip U because they are a great way to meet other people who have the same interests that you do, you can get out of the house, and most importantly, you can do something fun for YOU!!!

We have a whole whack of eclectic clubs offered: Nipissing University Business Society (NUBS), Nipissing University Environmental Action Team (NEAT), The Drumming Club, Nipissing University Boys and Girls Society (NUBAGS), Road Hockey Club, The Creative Alliance, The Wrestling Club, and Can-Nip Pride, just to name a few clubs that existed last year.

Now, you're thinking, "Jules, this seems almost too good to be true...how can I start my own club???....and I say (loudly, confidently, and well, ummm, loudly) "VERY EASILY!!!" If you have a great idea for a club, or want to re-start a club from last year, all you have to do is get at least ten signatures of NUSU members (every Nipissing University student is a member of NUSU), and submit a Governance Package (your vision statement of the club, names, executives, qualifications for membership, ideas for fundraising/events etc) and a working budget. Get all of this info to NUSU before our deadline of 4:00 p.m. on Thursday October 18th, 2001, and you're set. Oh yeah, did I mention, that if NUSU approves it, we'll give you official NUSU CLUB STATUS (oooooh, aaaaaahhh, ooooo) and $200.00 of cold hard cash to get it all started. You can't beat it!!.

Every year NUSU gives everyone the opportunity to join any of these fantastic clubs, and this year I will be the host of "LOVE OUR CLUBS DAZE: 2001" on Monday September 17th, 2001 and Tuesday September 18th, 2001. This is when all the clubs have booths set up and their executive members present, to talk to all people who may want to join. They'll have sign up sheets, dates of meetings, info...etc.... And have no fear, if you miss out for your club in September, you can be a part of the second "LOVE OUR CLUBS DAZE: 2002", on Monday January 14, and Tuesday January 15th, 2002! You can't possibly let TWO amazing opportunities pass you by, get informed, get involved, and have fun!
